Starting in the 1980s and into the 1990s, I began traveling extensively: first throughout Europe, then to North, Central, and South America, the Caribbean, Asia, and Africa, and I have always thoroughly enjoyed my trips – people, places, sites, histories, cultures, languages, foods, the expected, the unexpected, ... In fact, I have loved just about every second of my various trips and can easily say that travel is my favorite past time – hands down! I have always taken lots of photos on my trips - many of which I cherish because of the memories that they spark in me: that moment, that person, that exchange. Yet, it wasn't until more recently that I started making direct connections between my travels and my work. In fact, I started using photography (and video) as another means of creative expression and exploring personal/ cultural intersections. This gallery is turning into a large section of this website and not even close to including all the pictures I’ve taken that are meaningful to me. But, as a starting point, I have chosen 2001. Since then, I have had the pleasure of visiting and experiencing the following places for work, pleasure, friendship, education, and inspiration (in no particular order): Thailand (Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Bangkok, Phuket, Ayuttaya, Khoa Lak), Siem Reap Cambodia, Buenos Aires, Kuala Lampur, London, Ghana (Accra, Aburri), Port of Spain Trinidad, Costa Rica (San José, Quepos, Manuel Antonio), South Africa (Johannesburg, Hamburg), Brazil (Rio de Janeiro, Buzios), Honolulu, Maui, Philadelphia, Bali, New York City, China (Beijing, Chengdu, Szechuan Province,Tibetan Plateau), Chicago, San Francisco, Singapore, Mai Po, Hong Kong, Provincetown, and Los Angeles, ... so far.
